The Council is creating nine new high-quality bungalows in Thurmaston which will replace the St Michael's Court sheltered housing complex.
St Michael’s Court in Melton Road, Thurmaston was built over 50 years ago and no longer meets the demands of local older people. It comprises mostly bedsits with shared bathrooms which are hard to let.
Planning permission was granted in early 2024 and work begins in early 2025. Find out more in this news story.
Planning application
A planning application for the project was considered and approved at Plans Committee on Thursday February 22, 2024. The application and related documents can be viewed on the Planning Explorer.
