Loughborough Fair is in town from Wednesday, 13 November until Saturday, 16 November 2024.

  • Wednesday, 13 November – 5pm until 11pm
  • Thursday, 14 November – 12pm until 11pm
  • Friday, 15 November – 11am until 11pm
  • Saturday, 16 November – 11am until 11pm

Car parking

The Beehive Lane multi-storey car park and Southfield Road car parks are available during the hours of the fair. Southfield offices car park will also be open to the public outside of the Council’s opening times.

Granby Street car park will be closed from the afternoon of Monday, 11 November  due to the area being used for rides and attractions.

Road closures and diversions

There will be a number of road closures and diversions around Loughborough town centre from Tuesday, 12 November to Saturday, 16 November due to Loughborough Fair.

Access to both the Beehive multi-storey car park and the Southfields car park will still be possible but please consider taking more time when travelling into Loughborough.

Safety

The Council will work closely with partners including the police and will have stewards on patrol during the fair to make sure everyone enjoys the event safely.

There will be lost property and missing children points at Loughborough Fair 2024. 

Medical staff will also be attending to assist visitors.

Where is Loughborough Fair being opened?

The four-day event will be officially opened by the Mayor of Charnwood, Cllr Dr Julie Bradshaw MBE, at 5pm on Wednesday, 13 November – an hour earlier than previous years.

Loughborough Fair will be opened with the reading of the official proclamation which will take place at the Gallopers located in Devonshire Square.

History of Loughborough Fair

Fairs have been held in Loughborough for centuries, the first official Charter being granted to the Lord of the Manor, Hugh le Despencer, in 1221 by King Henry III. The Fair was then held on St. Peter’s Day.

Approximately 100 individual show people attend each year, presenting between them some 20 large rides, numerous children's rides, games and novelty stalls, and the usual popular refreshment stands.
