Leicestershire County Council's (LCC's) Cabinet, on June 17, 2014, agreed that County Council support for Area Forums in their current form would cease with immediate effect.

The decision was taken in the context of the launch of a consultation on LCC's new communities_strategy. That consultation ran from June 24, 2014 to September 1, 2014 and included consideration of the most effective ways of engaging with communities in the future.

The leicestershire forums website will continue to provide a platform for news and information about local engagement activity and consultations. Agendas and minutes from all forum meetings will also be retained.
