The Council will start a programme of additional street cleaning in the borough for areas affected by flooding.

We are prioritising areas based on need and accessibility as some areas still have flood water.

We will get to areas as quickly as we can, but it may take some time to reach all areas of the borough. Please bear with us.

We are working hard with our waste partner Serco and we are both committed to supporting Charnwood communities.

We will also be arranging to collect flood-damaged bulky waste items from properties which have been flooded internally. Again, this will take time to co-ordinate. Please take photos of damaged items in case you need evidence for insurance claims.

We may need to arrange different items to be collected at different times due to how we must legally dispose of some bulky waste, such as sofas and chairs, separately to other bulky waste, such as wardrobes and electrical items.

Further information on this collection will be published as soon as we have finalised arrangements. It takes time to plan in alongside the usual bin collections (which have also been impacted). We will bring in additional resources if they are available.

The best way to get information and updates about flood-damaged bulky waste collections (and other council news) is to sign up for our email alerts, visit www.charnwood.gov.uk/alerts (you can unsubscribe at any time) or keep an eye on our social media channels and website.

Thanks for your patience.
