Charnwood Borough Council will be writing to businesses in close proximity of Loughborough Fair.

Delivery and access to the Town Centre during the Fair

Deliveries are possible while the Fair is closed, however there will be no deliveries on the first day of the Fair (Wednesday 13 November) from midnight due to the build-up of the Fair. Business have been advised to ensure that any major deliveries are received no later than 5pm the Monday immediately prior to the Fair, particularly those delivered by larger vehicles.

Access is possible at road closure points (found on the Loughborough Fair Street Diversions map) following the closure of the Fair and up to 30 minutes prior to the opening of the Fair as set out below (no deliveries are allowed on the first day of the Fair).

Fair opening times and delivery information

  • Wednesday November 13 - 5pm until 11pm (no deliveries permitted)
  • Thursday November 14 – 12pm until 11pm (deliveries up to 11.30am to vacate fair area by 11.45am)
  • Friday November 15 - 11am until 11pm (deliveries up to 10.30am to vacate fair area by 10.45am)
  • Saturday November 16 - 11am to 11pm (deliveries up to 10.30am to vacate fair area by 10.45am)   

Exemptions                                                                               

Please note that during Fair operating hours, only emergency vehicles will be allowed to access the streets that fall within the road closure area and there are no exemptions in place for cash in transit vehicles. In view of these circumstances and the traffic management system in place during the Fair, businesses have been advised to rearrange their delivery schedules.
