Council tenants and leaseholders invited to networking event

Council tenants and leaseholders are being invited to a special event on Thursday, June 13, 2024. 

The tenant networking event returns to Loughborough Town Hall from 10am until 4pm.

Council tenants will be able to meet officers from Charnwood Borough Council, ask questions and find out more about the services available such as how to access advice on managing money and rent payments, and dealing with anti-social behaviour.

The housing needs team will also be on hand to talk to tenants about housing options including transfers.

There will also be an opportunity to view paintings, photographs and other creative works submitted by council tenants as part of a creative competition held last year.

The theme of the competition for council tenants was ‘Home’, and entries have included paintings of Watermead Park in Syston and photographs of Charnwood Water in Loughborough.

The networking event is open to anyone who is a council tenant or leaseholder. You don’t need to book a space, and people can come and go as they please. There will be free tea and coffee and useful resources.

Tenants can also sign up for various services, groups, forums and events via the council’s menu of involvement, a colourful leaflet that will be handed out to everyone who attends.

Peter Oliver, director for housing and wellbeing at Charnwood Borough Council, said: “We are looking forward to hosting another networking event and hope that many of our tenants and leaseholders will attend.

“We have held a number of these events at various locations in the past year, including Loughborough, Shepshed and Syston, and are planning more as we understand the importance of engaging with council tenants across the borough.

“Please do attend and speak with our brilliant council officers, who are here to help, support and advise our tenants so that everyone can get the best experience possible out of their tenancies.”
