Council tenants and leaseholders attended a special event in Birstall on Monday July 8.

The latest tenant networking event took place at Birstall Village Hall from 10am until 2pm.

It followed the event that took place at Loughborough Town Hall last month, and others that have taken place across the borough over the past 12 months, including at Shepshed and Syston.

The next two events will be held on Monday August 12 at the Elizabeth Park Centre in Thurmaston, and on Wednesday September 25 at the Altogether Place community hub at Warwick Way in Loughborough. Both events will run from 10am until 2pm.

Peter Oliver, director of housing and wellbeing at Charnwood Borough Council, said: “Thank you to council tenants from Birstall and throughout Charnwood who took time out of their busy schedules to come and visit our officers.

“These networking events are a great opportunity for the council to meet with our tenants and leaseholders and learn first-hand what their concerns are, what we are doing well and where we can improve.

“Our relationship with our customers is hugely important, so please take advantage of these events and other forms of customer engagement so that we can have open communications with each other.

“We look forward to meeting many more of you at future events.”

The council’s customer engagement team run a number of events, groups and forums throughout the year, all designed to encourage a close relationship between the council and its tenants.
