Loughborough KickStart Market takes over town centre

A market for new traders and budding businesses attracted scores of visitors to Loughborough on Sunday (20 October).
The Loughborough KickStart Market was held in Market Place and followed a successful pilot event in May.
Organised by Charnwood Borough Council’s markets team, the market attracted 46 traders on 53 stalls, offering a wide range of products and services, including jewellery, crafts, coffee, cakes, sweets and much more.
The traders were all new to market or taking their first steps in the business world.
John Hatfield, the Council’s markets, fairs and town centre operations manager, said: “It was great to welcome new traders and businesses once again at our second KickStart Market.
“There was a really interesting mixture of stalls on the day, all of them offering something different to the customers who came along.
“The market seemed to go down very well with visitors to the town and there was a lot of enthusiasm from the traders, which was really good to see.”

Every Friday, there is a Vintage and Collectors Market in Loughborough and a micro-market in Shepshed. The Council is also bringing more and more specialist markets to the heart of Loughborough.
