Mayor of Charnwood's Remembrance message
Published: Mon 4th November, 2024
“It is a great honour and privilege as Mayor of Charnwood to share Remembrance with people from all corners of the globe. They, too, will be holding their service of Remembrance, which recognises so many men and women who have served during times of conflict and who continue to do so.
We owe so much to those who have fought in the First and Second World Wars and who have lost their lives to give us the freedom we have today. The sacrifice our millions of soldiers have made and continue to make, needs not be forgotten, but sincerely remembered. We have so much to thank them all for.
Please do buy your poppy, wear it with absolute pride and support the Royal British Legion who help so many. It is. Indeed, our responsibility is to “Never Forget. We will remember you now and always.”
Councillor Dr Julie Bradshaw MBE
Mayor of Charnwood
