Request for new CCTV cameras
CCTV cameras provided by Charnwood Borough Council cover areas where their use is considered proportionate. Any requests for new cameras will need to go through strict scoring criterion to identify if there is a justifiable need and the installation meets the proportionality criteria. The Council must also consider the Human Rights Act.
The Council and partners may be able to help in other ways, so if you are experiencing crime or anti-social behaviour in your area, please report your concerns using the link below for antisocial behaviour and if there is a crime taking place then call 999 or report on the Leicestershire Police website if an immediate response if not required but you would like it to be recorded and investigated.
Crime records are reviewed on a regular basis and any areas which meet the criteria for installation of a new camera will be identified and subject to budget and capacity of monitoring staff may be added to the infrastructure.
