Flex-D project – Solar Hub and Electric Vehicle Charge Points

Charnwood Borough Council is working in partnership with Harborough District Council on a £2.3million collaborative project called Flex D to expand electric vehicle charging across the county. The other £1.15million of funding was previously secured from the Business Rates Pooling Fund.

The Flex D project includes solar powered charging hubs in each district and borough area, providing up to 12 charging points at each hub.

Installation of the charging hub in Loughborough is scheduled for the Autumn 2024.

Charnwood Borough Council Fleet vehicles

The Council also has a number of fully-electric fleet vehicles with dedicated charge points for those vehicles. There are two fleet vehicle dual-fast charge points at Beehive Lane car park and one charge point at our pest control unit.

Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI)
