We teamed up once again with our open spaces partner idverde to give away free tree saplings in November.
The Council handed out 3,500 trees to residents, community groups and parish councils across Charnwood during National Tree Week.
There were four different varieties to choose from and they were given out on a first come first served basis over three days, at three different locations across Charnwood.
Information about your trees and planting guides to help you look after your tree can be found on the looking after your tree web page.
Tree varieties
There were four types of tree available and residents and groups could collect up to 10 saplings:
- Wild Cherry
- Dogwood
- Hazel
- Hawthorn
The saplings were approximately 20cm – 40cm when collected.
