Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday, September 8.
The Council created this web page to host information about how the Council was marking her passing and the proclamation of King Charles III.
Below are links to statements, press releases and videos which were produced during the period of national mourning.
Books of condolence at the Council offices and Loughborough Town Hall remain open until 5pm on Tuesday, September 20.

Books of condolence
Our Books of Condolence have now closed. They will be retained by the Record Office for Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.
You can still record a message of condolence on the Royal Family website.
Flowers
Flowers laid at the Carillon Tower in Queen's Park, Loughborough in memory of the Queen have now been removed. They will be composted and the compost will be used on flower beds in the park. Cards and messages left with flowers have been collected and stored with Books of Condolence.
