Interactive maps

The Charnwood interactive mapping system offers extensive map based information relating to the borough, for instance by selecting the different layers of data you can view spatial information that may affect your property or land.

This application has been provided for information purposes only. Similarly the data shown within is also for information purposes and as such any person or organisation wishing to carry out formal or legal searches within property conveyancing processes, should contact our Local Land Charge Service. 

We will not be held responsible for the misuse or misinterpretation of any information held within this application.

Find My Street

Find My Street is a new application provided by GeoPlace and the Local Government Association. It shows details for every street and address in England, Scotland and Wales held in the National Street Gazetteer (NSG) and the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG).

Charnwood Borough Council contribute to the NLPG by creating the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG). Street details for Charnwood (CBC) are maintained by Leicestershire County Council who in turn contribute these details to the NSG.

Details include whether a street is Publicly Maintained or privately owned, as well as giving the Unique Property Reference Number and location for every address held.

Find My Street can be accessed at www.findmystreet.co.uk.

Inspire

Inspire is a European Directive that requires Charnwood Borough Council to make certain environmental data available for viewing, which is available via the above link to the Interactive Mapping and for downloading, via the link below, to allow users to import data into their own Geographic Information System (GIS).

The data is available in both ESRI shp format and MapInfo TAB format.

Third party data-sets

Third party data-sets can be considered to be any data shown within this application that has not been created or managed by the council or anyone within the council. This includes all mapping products which are the property of Ordnance Survey and are used under licence, remaining copyright of Ordnance Survey.

Other third party data-sets include:

• Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), responsibility of Natural England,
• Flood zones, responsibility of Environment Agency,
• Listed buildings, responsibility of Historic England.

As stated these data-sets and information are not created or managed by us and any problems should be directed to the relevant authorities responsible. Information on the source, accuracy and currency of any data can be provided by contacting us and asking for the GIS team.
