About the competition

The Council formed a festive team with Fosse 107 and Love Loughborough to run a competition to find a youngster who would like to switch on the town’s festive lights on Friday 29 November, 2024 in front of thousands of people.

Every year Loughborough town centre is packed as people count down to the moment the Christmas lights are turned on and the festive season well and truly begins.

The Council is on the look out for a young person aged between 5 and 12 who would like the honour of flicking the big switch.

Entrants were required to tell us why they think the nominated young person should Light up Loughborough.

The winner will receive tickets to this year's pantomime, Snow White at Loughborough Town Hall and a £50 Love Loughborough voucher.
