80th anniversary of VE Day - Events around Charnwood

Mountsorrel

Event details below:

• 9am - Flag raising ceremony at the Mountsorrel Memorial Centre (MMC) (105 Leicester Road, Mountsorrel, LE12 7AJ)
• 6.30pm - Church bells to be rung at St Peters Church (Market Place, Mountsorrel, LE12 7BA) and Christ Church (4 Rothley Rd, Mountsorrel, LE12 7JU)
• 9.30pm - Beacon to be lit at Castle Hill

In addition to the above, the Mountsorrel Royal British Legion are inviting Mountsorrel residents aged 80 years and over to a fish and chip supper at the Mountsorrel Memorial Centre (MMC), where local school children will also be in attendance and songs from the World War II era will be enjoyed.
