Summer activities for children available to book now

A variety of summer activities are available to youngsters across Charnwood.

Active Charnwood, the sport and recreation team at Charnwood Borough Council, will be running activities from Friday, July 26 until Tuesday, August 20 at venues across the borough.

Activities such as climbing, archery and high ropes are now available to book. There will also be family activity sessions taking place.

Zoe Griffiths, physical activity and wellbeing manager at Charnwood Borough Council, said: “The Active Charnwood team are running a fantastic programme of summer activities this year.

“Each and every session will be great fun and a golden opportunity for youngsters to get active during the holidays.”

The activities taking place are:

  • Friday, July 26 – Family Activity Roadshow, Elizabeth Park, Thurmaston, 10am-12pm
  • Tuesday, July 30 – Family Activity Roadshow, Glenmore Park, Shepshed, 2-4pm
  • Wednesday, July 31 – Climbing, Loughborough Climbing Station, 11am-12pm
  • Tuesday, August 6 – Archery, Beaumanor Hall, Woodhouse, Loughborough, 10am-12.30pm
  • Wednesday, August 7 – Family Activity Roadshow, Southfields Park, Loughborough, 2-4pm
  • Thursday, August 8 – High Ropes, Beaumanor Hall, Woodhouse, Loughborough, 10am-12.30pm
  • Tuesday, August 13 – Family Activity Roadshow, Little Lane Playing Fields, Mountsorrel, 10am-12pm
  • Wednesday, August 14 – Climbing, Loughborough Climbing Station, 11am-12pm
  • Tuesday, August 20 – Family Activity Roadshow, Jubilee Park, Loughborough 10am-12pm

Climbing, archery and high ropes are pre-bookable and are on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no need to book onto the family activity roadshows.
