A weekend of fun and music for all ages will be taking place in Southfields Park in Loughborough with a new event this September.

Music in the Park will be held on Saturday and Sunday, 14 and 15 September and will be filled with live performances, activities and stalls, and promises music, fun and unforgettable memories for all ages.

Charnwood Borough Council has organised the event and a wide range of bands and artists from across the musical landscape will be performing at the two-day event.

Performers confirmed include musicians and singers Ollie Hayes, Charlotte Beaver, Sarah Clarke, Ruth Chomik, and Olly Evans.

There will also be appearances from the Quorn Ukulele Band, Sing It Happy, Danny Round & Band and Lacky C.

Cllr Jennifer Tillotson, the Council’s lead member for economic development, regeneration and town centres, said: “We are hosting another spectacular event in Southfields Park this September.

“The Celebrating Charnwood event in June was a fantastic way to start the summer, and Music in the Park will be a great way to cap it off.

“This is an amazing opportunity for musicians and artists to showcase their talents and for traders to sell their goods to a large and appreciative audience.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors from throughout the borough and beyond to Southfields Park for a superb weekend of music and fun for all the family.”

Traders can register their interest in operating a stall at the event by emailing the council’s events team events@charnwood.gov.uk.

Musicians, bands and artists who would like to perform at future events are also encouraged to contact the team.

You can find out more information on the event at www.charnwood.gov.uk/music.

The Beehive Lane multi-storey car park and Southfield Road car parks are available during the event. Southfield offices car park will also be open to the public.

Music in the Park is one of several events which form part of the Living Loughborough project which is being supported by Loughborough Town Deal. The Town Deal secured £16.9 million from the Government’s Towns Fund to support 11 projects and in total, they are worth more than £40 million of investment.
