Christmas refuse and recycling collection dates

Council offices at Southfields

The main council office building at Southfields will close at 1pm on Tuesday, 24 December 2024 and remain closed until 9am on Thursday, 2 January 2025.

Please note: While there are changes to the opening hours of the office and availability over the phone, our online forms are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Customer services

The Council's telephone service will be open until 1pm on Tuesday, December 24 and remain closed until 9am on Thursday, 2 January 2 2025. Repairs calls will be for emergencies only, all other repairs should be reported online.

Environmental health

The environmental health service will close for the Christmas period from Friday, 20 December at 4pm until Thursday, 2 January 2025 at 9am.

Other services at the council offices

Jobcentre Plus closes at 5pm on Tuesday 24 December and will remain closed until 9am on Monday 30 December.

Jobcentre Plus will then close at 5pm on Tuesday 31 December and will remain closed until 9am on Thursday, 2 January 2025.

The Christmas opening hours for the Loughborough Leisure Centre, South Charnwood and Soar Valley leisure centres can be found below:

Loughborough Leisure Centre

  • Open 8am until 4pm on Monday 23 December and Tuesday 24 December
  • Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day (Wednesday 25 December and Thursday 26 December)
  • Open 8am until 4pm on Friday 27 December, Saturday 28 December, Sunday 29 December, Monday 30 December and Tuesday 31 December (New Years Eve)
  • Closed New Years Day (Wednesday, 1 January 2025)
  • Open as usual from Thursday, 2 January 2025

Soar Valley Leisure Centre

  • Open 7am until 3pm on Monday 23 December and Tuesday 24 December
  • Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day (Wednesday 25 December and Thursday 26 December)
  • Open 7am until 3pm on Friday 27 December
  • Open 8am until 3pm on Saturday 28 December, Sunday 29 December,
