Dishley Pool is a large, open waterbody situated to the north west of Loughborough with a circular path around the pool.
It is popular with local residents including dog walkers and runners and is home to various wildlife.
The pool is also used for angling which is managed by the Loughbrough Soar Angling Society.
The pool is fringed by mature willow and alder trees and the area is particularly good for bird watching. It also offers visitors several places to sit, enjoy the fresh air and be amongst nature.
Fishing is prohibited in the wildlife area to the eastern bank.
Car parking
There is a small car park by the Derby Road Playing Fields (LE11 5FJ) that is locked at dusk.
Blue-green algae
Visitors to the site are being advised to stay away from the water as it's suspected toxic 'blue-green algae' are currently present at Dishley Pool. Visitors are also being reminded to keep dogs on a lead.
The algae should subside in the next few weeks.
