This page contains information to demonstrate how we are meeting our Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) as part of the Equality Act 2010.

The general duties require us to have 'due regard' in all we do for the need to eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation; advance equality; and foster good relations between groups who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.

The specific duties require us to publish information each year to demonstrate how we are meeting our general duties. We must also refresh and publish our equality objectives every four years.

Our Equality Strategy contains information about inequalities within our borough and sets out our equality objectives in line with our Corporate Plan. The Strategy, helps us to show how we are meeting our legal obligations under the Equality Act 2010.
