In late 2008 and early 2009 we sought views on the way Loughborough town centre looked and on the plans for its improvement. The consultation closed on Monday 5th January 2009.
Working in partnership with Leicestershire County Council, proposals were presented to make the area more attractive for shoppers and visitors, and more comfortable and safe for pedestrians and cyclists.
Proposals included new paving, street furniture, planting and public art and involved changes to Bedford Square, Wards End, Devonshire Square, Granby Street and the A6 between Baxter Gate and Swan Street.
The ideas also looked at how the existing pedestrianised area of the Market Place, Market Street and Ashby Square could be revitalised.
